MORE CULTURE IN SCHOOLS PROJECT
School is a place for the dissemination of artistic and cultural knowledge, where activities can be developed that promote dialogue between the cultural experiences of the local community and school experiences. These experiences strengthen the actions of historical subjects in the process of forming, transforming, and exercising full citizenship, based on various forms of artistic language.
The enactment of Law 10,639, dated January 9, 2003, mandates the inclusion in schools of practices aimed at recognizing African and Afro-Brazilian history and culture, which until then were not mandatory in the school curriculum. In this sense, it is necessary to encourage the school community to commit to actions focused on axes II, IV, and VIII in order to participate in the More Culture in Schools Program.
